With 8 accomplished editions in its consecutive history, ÍRÁN:CI has become an indelible part of the cultural calendar of Prague, Brno and Bratislava and has turned into one of the well awaited interactive showcases of various fields of art for the lovers of culture in these cities every January. Organized in cooperation with Farsi Cinema Center, the festival is focused on the best works of the Iranian cinematography. Moreover, in every edition, the festival program expands to accommodate the audience with a wider horizon of art and artists and thus, a variety of side programs including music performances, theatre performances, painting exhibitions, photo exhibitions, poster exhibitions, industry program, film workshops and film seminars accompany the main program.

The festival takes place in some of the renowned art-house cinemas across the two countries and in over 12 locations including cinemas, film schools, universities and galleries.

Throughout its life, the festival has screened more than 200 titles to over 35000 visitors and has hosted some of the notable figures of the Czech and Iranian Cinema such as Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, Eva Zaoralova, Petr Koliha, Mohammadali Talebi, Mani Haghighi, Ali Mosaffa and Iva Bittova as well as international figures including Alaa Karkouti, Jordi Niubo and Sidiq Barmak between 2012 and 2019.

In addition, the festival has received a very positive support for its program and structure from organizations such as the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, City of Prague, People in Need and FAMU as well as a tremendous support from many reputable media partners such as Czech TV, Respekt, A2, Aktualne and National Geographic among other known publications.
