While the presence of Farsi films has dominated festival screens for decades, there is very little structure or development opportunities for filmmakers out of the region to garner support and sustain their success. Through a variety of workshops, panel discussions, and other professional development opportunities with celebrated filmmakers of Farsi backgrounds, industry people, and film professors, we hope to educate artists from the Farsi community about how to work with Canadian funding agencies, unions and producers. Overtime, FCC’s incubator will train and connect Farsi-speaking talent with local producers to develop untold stories that speak to the global Farsi diaspora.
